Every one spreads joy. Some when they come & some when they go. This blog will be about my personal journey into discovering how to choose joy moment by moment.
It's not an easy creed to maintain when living with lupus & having unpleasant side effects from the medication. However, MOST of the time I can do so.
Sadly, Plaquenil the drug of choice for long term use has caused 'toxicity' in my system & damaged the vision in my right eye. I had to stop taking it several weeks ago & be unmedicated until I could see my rheumatologist. I was at a level 9 in pain for a solid week. He started me on an old cancer drug (also used for rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis & systemic lupus) called Methotrexate.
It has a list of side effects that were truly frightening but nearly as frightening as losing my sight. So I had my first dose last Thursday & remained queasy & nauseated for several days.
Note to self: Read Psalm 91 AGAIN
